Top 8 | Heart Monitors for iPhone

There are heart monitoring capabilities included with most fitness trackers and accessories these days, but I thought it would be interesting to take a look at some of the products for iPhone that are dedicated almost exclusively to the idea of keeping your heart in check. Indeed, even the most successful fitness accessories that we’ve mentioned on a number of occasions allow you to count the steps you have taken and calories you have ingested, but are also typically worn on the wrist of the arm for precisely that reason: because they can monitor your heart and give you detailed feedback on how your body is responding to your particular workout plan. As well as any changes that should be made, if there are any at all! So if you are looking for a fitness tracker that does this then why not check out our other lists on the topic. This one is dedicated solely to heart monitors for the iPhone, but still features a number of popular or big name developers that have thrown their hats into the ring. Check out our favorite accessories below and then suggest your own in the comments section!

8. Jarv Run BT ($27.95)

Jarv Run BT

Let’s start off with a simple option: the Jarv Premium Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor, which is a basic band that is designed to track your heart rate as your exercise. It works based on the new low power Bluetooth 4.0 technology and can also monitor both the distance you have traveled and the speed you have traveled at when out running. As mentioned above, it’s one of the more straightforward options out there at present and is great when it comes to compatibility, working with over 50 different third party fitness apps. – Buy from Amazon

7. iHealth PO3 ($57.01)

iHealth PO3

So, this isn’t exactly a heart rate monitor in the traditional sense and I guess might have been overlooked in favor of some other fitness bands that didn’t make the list, but I have a fitness friend who swears by it and the important function it offers. The iHealth Wireless Pulse Oximeter is basically a tiny device that you can carry with you wherever you go, in your pocket or in your bag, and allows you to quickly and easily measure the blood oxygen saturation and of course the pulse rate of your body. – Buy from Amazon

6. Wahoo Blue HR ($57.75)

Wahoo Blue HR

This is the first Wahoo product to make our list, and I should not that it’s also not the last! Wahoo have crafted something of a name for themselves coming up with excellent fitness accessories for smartphones and tablets, and the Blue HR strap is one of their best. While there are none of their products mentioned on this particular list, Runtastic is an excellent Europe-based company that have developed a whole host of interesting accessories, including their own HR monitor. This one from Wahoo is basically like the US version of the Runtastic Receiver, but is probably slightly cheaper. It’s also a lot more powerful and designed to give accurate results through its excellent app.  – Buy from Amazon

5. Polar H7 ($57.94)

Polar H7

The Polar H7 is another nice comfortable option that many Europeans have been benefitting from for yourars. You simply attach the strap to your body when working out and then download an app to receive statistics on your heart rate and your body in general. The device is compatible with a number of different leading apps, including those made by Polar but also other third party options. It’s also customizable, and is available in a range of different colors and shades. As with most of the other accessories to make the list it functions with the latest version of Bluetooth to send info directly to your iPhone and will even give you live readouts so you can check how you are progressing during your workout session.  – Buy from Amazon
