Top 8 | Dating Apps for iPad

Given the fast-paced nature of life these days, it’s often difficult to meet someone new and maintain some kind of relationship as friends, let alone to find someone to spend the rest of your life with! More and more people are turning to online dating services in order to make the process easier: to find a match without the pains of visiting some social place and striking up a conversation with a stranger. These online dating sites and apps allow you to do just that from the comfort of your own home, weighing up different options and then setting up dates in order to meet someone who is right for you. We take a look at the best dating apps on the iPad!

8. HowAboutWe (Free)

HowAboutWe

HowAboutWe is an up and coming dating app that is available not just for the iPad and iOS devices but also other platforms such as Android. With all the dating apps out there that currently own a percentage of the market, forcing one’s way into the market can become difficult. This is where innovation comes in, and even the smallest differentiation on a market like the online dating one can make a huge difference. HowAboutWe works on the simple premise that users pose a questions, such as “How about we go and watch a movie and eat too much popcorn?”, and then then sit back and wait to see who might be interested. While this free app has limited functionality, the potential is definitely there! – Download from iTunes

7. Coffee Meets Bagel (Free)

CoffeeMeetsBagel

Coffee Meets Bagel is another relatively new entry to the online dating market, and again comes with some kind of innovation that is causing users to give up their existing dating sites and apps (which in most cases are multiple, since users will typically sign up for more than one!) and flock to this one. The idea is very simple: the matching system will pair you not with a stranger that shares the same interests and city or whatever, but someone with which you share mutual friends. You can easily turn down a match by passing it within 24 hours, but people seem to be taking to Coffee Meets Bagel because it is a safer process and usually will eliminate all the random strangers you encounter by limiting your view to mutual friends only. – Download from iTunes

6. Match (Free)

Match

Match.com is one of those dating sites that has been around forever, or at least it seems that way! They currently boast a user base of over 25 million active members of the community, which means that the app has many people to choose from! Not quite as many as PlentyofFish, which is probably the most used dating service out there these days, but still enough people to choose from! The influence of Tinder has clearly gotten to Match, who recently updated their interface to allow users to simply pass over profiles with the swipe of a screen. – Download from iTunes

5. Zoosk (Free)

Zoosk

Zoosk is another one that has been around for a while, and has an official app that is available on a range of different mobile platforms. Personally, I like the look of this interface in that it is clean and precise and easy enough to use. There are 27 million users that currently look to Zoosk for help with their romantic lives, though beware that there are certain limited features with this app. One thing that you will not have access to without subscribing is the chat function, which is free in many of the other dating apps currently on the market. – Download from iTunes
